Most Expensive Cigar Ever Made

Gurkha Black Dragon
Price : - $1,150.00 per cigar

A peaty and leathery cigar from Gurkha, the Black Dragon is an exclusive Honduran blend made from select fillers, which create a rich cigar with a medium body.

The Black Dragon story began in 2006 when it hit the market with the hefty price tag of $1,150.00 per cigar, the most expensive cigar ever made. Only 5 hand-carved camel bone boxes of 100 cigars were produced, making this stick very, very limited.  The blend included extremely old and rare tobaccos collected from all corners of the world.  To make the Black Dragon more accessible to cigar enthusiasts throughout the world, a new version was recently released in 2007.

This new blend has a similar flavor and uses similar tobaccos, but does not cost nearly as much as its predecessor.  Notes of earth and leather are strongly noticeable and combine nicely with a medium body that has some kick, but is not overwhelmingly powerful.  Like all Gurkhas, the new Black Dragon comes packaged in extremely attractive boxes, making them look almost as good as they taste.  The Black Dragon is another fine addition to the Gurkha portfolio and one that is also highly recommended.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift (born December 13, 1989) is the next big thing in country music. She hails from Pennsylvania and has a younger brother named Austin.Personally, she's been romantically linked to Joe Jonas and is a good pal of Kellie Pickler. She actually taught herself to play guitar.Yes, unlike some (okay, most) music stars of today, Taylor Swift is actually impressive!

With her first number-one hit "Our Song," at age 18 years and 9 days, Swift became the fifth teenaged female singer to top the Billboard magazine Hot Country Songs chart. Aside from singing talent, as you can tell, she's a major looker. In fact, Swift was ranked #57 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2008 list.

At almost six feet tall and with curly, lone blonde hair, Taylor Swift might have a modeling career ahead of her. For now, though, she's content to be dominating the country charts and making a major name for herself in the music industry.

My community service is really important to me- said Hilton.

Socialite Paris Hilton has put her partying days behind her to focus on her love life and community service.
The 29-year-old heiress is now keen on giving back to the community via charity, reported Radar online.

"My community service is really important to me," said Hilton.

"This week I started and we went down and got a bunch of pumpkins at the pumpkin patch and carving tools and paint, candy and a pinata and did a lot of fun things for the kids," she added.

As part of her 200 hours of community service she needs to complete, Hilton will also spend time volunteering at homeless shelters in both Los Angeles and Vegas.
As for her romantic relationship with Cy Waits, she says they are happier than ever.
"I'm so happy. Cy is an amazing man. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met in my life and he is my best friend. We are inseparable, we are always together. I just feel very blessed that I found him," she said.

Lady Gaga Rock The YouTube

According to BBC, which quotes internet research company famecount.com, Poker-Face Gaga has 1,002,734,757 views on YouTube. This includes all her uploaded material and not a single video.
She tweeted to almost 7 million followers saying: "We reached one billion views on YouTube little monsters!" And then dubbed them "kings and queens of YouTube".

Lady Gaga has officially become the first person to rack up more than 1 billion channel views on YouTube.

However, the record for highest number of views on a single video is Justin Bieber's single Baby featuring Ludacris, with 367,793,190 views last we checked and the number is steadily increasing.

Gene Therapy for Depression in Mice May Lead to Tests in Monkeys, Humans

Gene therapy eased symptoms of depression in a mouse study that may spur new research in humans, scientists said.

The researchers studied mice that acted depressed and lacked a protein, called p11, thought to play a role in brain function. When the authors injected a gene into the animals’ brains that produced the protein, they behaved normally, said a report in the journal Science Translational Medicine.

If the therapy also works in an ongoing study in monkeys, the researchers said they would seek approval to test it in people within a year or two. Gene therapies have shown success in treating Parkinson’s disease and brain and eye disorders. This would be the first human test of a gene therapy in a psychiatric condition with an known cause.

“The use of gene therapy to treat complex psychiatrist diseases represents uncharted territory,” said Husseini Manji, the neuroscientist, and two colleagues from Johnson & Johnson, the New Brunswick, New Jersey-based drugmaker, in a commentary that accompanied the study.

Human testing must be approved by an oversight committee for research at universities and this therapy is likely to face resistance, said David Antonuccio, a psychologist and professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno.

“My worry would be for the unintended and unexpected consequences of altering genes in humans,” Antonuccio said in an e-mail. “With drug research, at least the drug can be stopped.”

Urgent Need

Still, an urgent need exists to find a better treatment for depression, said Michael Kaplitt, a neurosurgeon at New York- Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, who led the experiment, in a telephone interview yesterday.

“I think it would be a major mistake to prevent this treatment from moving forward,” said Kaplitt, a founder and shareholder of Neurologix Inc., a Fort Lee, New Jersey, company that has licensed the rights to the gene therapy used in the trial. “Major depression is one of the most prevalent diseases in the world and one of the major causes of lost work time.”

The experimental therapy builds on the research of Paul Greengard, a professor at Rockefeller University in New York who won the Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine in 2000 for work on how brain chemicals, called neurotransmitters, aid communication between nerve cells in the brain.

Serotonin in Depression

In 2006, Greengard and his colleagues reported that a protein called p11 enables neuron receptors to connect with a neurotransmitter called serotonin. Serotonin is thought to be involved in depression and is the brain chemical that antidepressants like Eli Lilly & Co.’s Prozac attempt to boost.

Greengard is a founder and shareholder in Intra-Cellular Therapies Inc., a closely held company based in New York that has licensed patents for p11. He and Kaplitt collaborated on the research and were the senior authors of today’s paper.

If people have too little p11, it may help explain why they’re depressed and why antidepressants don’t help them, Kaplitt said in a telephone interview yesterday.

The mice in the study were given two tests often used to measure depression and the effects of antidepressant drugs. The mice stopped struggling more quickly than normal when they were held upside down by their tails, or put in a water tank from which they couldn’t escape.

Rat pups bred to have no p11 had the protein injected into their brains when they were two days old. After recovering from the injection, they were seen to struggle longer. They also displayed more interest in sugar than the other mice, suggesting they had more interest in pleasure.

Brains of the Dead

To assess human evidence, Kaplitt and his colleagues examined the brains of depressed and nondepressed people who had died. Looking at a region called the nucleus accumbens, often described as the brain’s pleasure center, they found low levels of p11 in those who had suffered from depression and higher levels in those hadn’t.

Concluding that low p11 caused the patients’ depression is making an unwarranted leap, said Antonuccio, the psychiatry professor. The low p11 levels could be a result of the patients’ depression as easily as a cause of it, he said.

“That is the problem with most correlational results,” he said yesterday in an e-mail. “Correlation does not mean causation.”

The research was funded by grants from the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Institutes of Health and two foundations.

Akon's new album influenced by different styles of music

Rapper Akon says his new album is influenced by many styles of music he has been exposed to touring across the world.

The 'Sexy Chick' hitmaker drew influence from across the globe to produce 'Stadium' which sees his established hip hop sound mixed with dance beats and influences from as far afield as Japan and India.

'As you grow, you experience different things. You start travelling, you start collaborating with different people and you start experiencing life bigger,' contactmsuic.com quoted him as saying.

'I was the type of artist that created my music based from my experience. And nothing has changed. I'm always in Europe, always in Asia, always in India, always in Japan, always in Africa, the U.K., France, and this is the kind of music that I'm exposed to,' he said.

Salman’s attitude in ‘Bigg Boss 4′- Unpretentious and Straightforward

This year, as Salman Khan hosts the fourth season of Bigg Boss, the super star promises to be unpretentious, straightforward and absolutely frank on his part.
“The first and only lesson I have learned in acting is to be myself. Viewers will get 100 per cent unadulterated Salman Khan in Bigg Boss. I am hosting it in my own style – frank and uncut,” Salman is quoted to have said in an interview.
Regarding the housemates, Salman said anyone playing smart and clever, will get a short end of the stick.
“I am a very straight-forward person and I will not take any hypocrisy and politics lightly. For those housemates who play clean, they will always find their best friend in me. Those who don’t, be ready to expect the worst,” he said.
Salman also admitted that he consulted his mom before agreeing to host the show.

Rahman’s world tour delays Jhootha Hi Sahi

Jhootha Hi Sahi which was slated to release on October 15 has been pushed by a week. The reason being its music director A R Rahman. The background music of Jhootha Hi Sahi still requires some work and therefore director Abbas Tyrewala has decided to postpone the release. The film will now release on the October 22.

A source said, “Abbas Tyrewala wanted to give A R Rahman creative freedom and not nag him with deadlines. Therefore without batting an eyelid Abbas decided to push the release date and give A R Rahman more time to work on the background score of Jhootha Hi Sahi.

Although Abbas was travelling with Rahman everywhere to finish the background, it is obvious that the work is far from over. Abbas took a completely creative decision when he postponed the release date by a week. He feels that what Rahman brings to a project is very valuable. He did not want to hamper A R Rahman’s creative process by bogging him down with time limits.”

Producer Madhu Mantena confirms the news. “It’s true that we’ve decided to release Jhootha Hi Sahi on October 22. It’s only good, as we will utilise this extra time in promoting our film. It was a decision that we all took together. Rahman and Abbas have been working on the music and it sounds fantastic. However they feel that a little work is still required towards the end of the film. So we decided to push the film for now. It is for the betterment of the film and no date is more important than the film itself.”

When asked about the deadline to finish the music, Madhu said, “See they can still kill themselves and complete the flick in time as we have a week. However it is not fair to put these creative people under so much pressure. I think they need time to do their best work and that’s what we are doing.”

Peter Andre denies dating Kim Kardashian

London, Oct 4 : Singer Peter Andre has dismissed rumours that he is dating Kim Kardashian, although he finds her sexy.
"Rumours keep surfacing about my so-called 'relationship' with Kim Kardashian but I've never even met the girl! At least when we do meet, we'll have something to talk about, though. She's not a bad person to be linked to, given how sexy she is!" contactmusic.com quoted him as saying.

The "Unconditional" hitmaker - who raises three children, Harvey, eight, Junior, five, and three-year-old Princess Tiaamii, with ex-wife Katie Price - admitted, despite being up against Price at the upcoming National Television Awards, he is thrilled to be nominated.

"The press have made a big deal of the fact that both mine and Kate's reality shows have been nominated for a National Television Award, and they are making out that there's huge competition between us," he said.

"I can only speak for myself, but I'm honestly just so happy to be nominated that winning isn't important. I've never been nominated before and that's like a prize in itself," he added.

Jenny McCarthy Consulted Therapist After Split From Jim Carrey

Model & actress Jenny McCarthy who once dated Hollywood comedy King Jim Carrey revealed she slipped into severe depression after splitting from the star. The actress admitted that she consulted her therapist in order to deal with her broken heart strongly.

The pair parted their ways earlier this year after dating for almost five years.

"I went to my therapist. And she had said, 'You know, no matter what, any relationship or marriage that I've had in the past, too, you grieve the loss of the relationship.' There's somewhat of a feeling of failure that you have to mourn of going, 'God, you know, the dreams that you had in your head are, that's all they were, just dreams," she was quoted as saying while appearing at the Larry King's show.

Now it seems that therapy has done wonders on the writer as she is back on dating block, "I am currently seeing someone. I'm calling it very light dating. Nothing too serious.”

'The Social Network'

The story behind the massive social networking site Facebook gets the big-screen treatment with this Columbia Pictures production scripted by The West Wing's Aaron Sorkin. The film will focus on Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg's ladder to the top after creating one of the biggest Internet sensations.

You may have heard critics and advertisers tout The Social Network, David Fincher’s  finger-pointing film about how Facebook was harvested from the halls of Harvard and turned into a billion dollar business, as “the movie of the decade” or “a generation-defining film.” This kind of praise has led the entertainment journalism collective to liken it to true staples of cinema like Citizen Kane and The Graduate. In terms of relevance to its audience, those are fair if overreaching statements. The film depicts its teenage characters with unflinching pragmatism as it weaves the nasty web of deception and betrayal that is the story of the social media juggernaut. In terms of its protagonist’s journey, however, I couldn’t help but compare it to another landmark film: 1974’s Death Wish.

Like Michael Winner’s divisive and controversial revenge flick, the action in The Social Network, as with so many stories, kicks off when anti-hero Mark Zuckerberg loses the leading lady in his life. Luckily, she’s not slaughtered by a pack of petty thugs, but instead liberates herself from her pretentious and pessimismistic beau in the crushing opening scene of the film, which sets into motion a chain of events that will change his life – and the world.

Zuckerberg, played with sardonic wit by rising star Jesse Eisenberg, retreats to his Kirkland Hall haven seeking retribution (see where I’m going with this?). He gets drunk, blogs unfavorably about his ex and creates a program that places female students’ headshots side by side so that inebriated undergrads can anonymously rate them. The site, called Facemash, accumulates so many hits that it crashes the University’s servers, which gets the attention of the school’s cyber-security squad as well as a group of aspiring entrepeneurs. Twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (both played by Armie Hammer), well-to-do, all-American future Olympians, approach Zuckerberg with an opportunity to design a website that they’ve been quietly developing: a social network exclusive to Harvard students. Mark likes the idea, but doesn’t want to be a part of it: he wants the whole thing. If greed is good, then Zuckerberg (though not exactly financially motivated) is great.

The connections between Charles Bronson’s career defining film and Fincher’s soon-to-be-classic movie are, of course, hypothetical. My point is that, like Paul Kersey, Zuckerberg paints a target on his head with his vengeful actions as he breaks the rules of business ethics and leaves his mark on the world. Only after the storm has begun brewing does he realize that he’s in way over his head. The Social Network is more a meditation on right vs. wrong than a chronicle of the birth of Facebook and it is a more affecting film because of that. The courtroom drama that ensues through Fincher’s two-hour masterpiece pulls no punches and asks the questions that we, the audience, are most curious about: Who really started Facebook? How much is the company worth? Fincher explores the historic and meteoric rise of this digital domain delicately, building the tension organically as each chapter gives way to a new series of inquiries during the legal proceedings. Rather than provide a definitive answer. he leaves the audience responsible for drawing its own conclusions.

Though it’s quite different from many of the grim stories Fincher’s told before, The Social Network still conforms to the technical style that defines his work. The dank college dorms and dingy frat houses bring to mind the dreary environments of Panic Room and Fight Club, especially in terms of lighting and color. Quick cuts convey the lightening fast pace in which we consume information in the digital age. The ominous music, composed by Trent Reznor, aids the auteur in expressing the enormity of the situation. Most noteworthy, however, is Aaron Sorkin’s stinging script, which uses tech-speak, legal lingo and slang to tell the tale of sex, lies and limitless fortunes. He brilliantly combines multiple points of view (that of Zuckerberg, his partner Eduardo Saverin and the Winklevosses) of the same events to bring his audience a well-rounded and unbiased account of the events that turned best friends into bitter enemies and bookworms into billionaires.

I believe that, while it will certainly garner numerous award nominations come January, The Social Network’s full impact will not be felt until the generation that it portrays can look back at it in retrospect. It is a very contemporary piece of thought provoking entertainment, but we can’t assume that it defines who we are as a collective community because, like Zuckerberg says of his digital society, we don’t really know what it is yet.
